Review: Bottomless Brunch - Bad Egg London

Last month I posted a review about my bottomless brunch experience at The Avenue and I mentioned that I was starting a love affair with brunch. When my closest girlfriends and I were planning a catch up for last Saturday, I decided to find another brunch place so we could have our long awaited girly date over good food and mimosas. Google told me that Bad Egg sounded like a good option for us so I booked right away. This place sure is popular so make sure to book in advance if you are planning to go.

Bad Egg is just a short walk from Moorgate tube station. I initially had some trouble finding it (although my girlfriends reminded me that my attention to detail is terrible and I should have followed the very clear instructions on the Bad Egg website) but when I finally spotted it at the bottom of a square I was faced with a flashing neon sign - Bad Egg. Open.

This place is cool. No nonsense, American dinner style, comfy booths and funky waiters kinda cool. We were seated in a booth and were so busy doing the - 'I haven't seen you all in so long, there's so much to talk about, let's try and squeeze as much chatter in the first 5 minutes and bounce from topic to topic'- kind of thing that we forgot one important detail. This was a bottomless brunch. For 2 hours we would be topped up with drinks of our choice. So we fixed that STAT and ordered our first round of drinks. Once our waiter knew our order we literally didn't have to worry about it again. Somehow my mimosa glass remained full the whole time we were there and I suspect at times there were some ninja moves thrown in there to help keep my glass full without me being aware.

There are two options:
  • The Boozy Brunch for £32.50 which comes with bottomless mimosas, cava or bloody mary's and three food dishes.
  • The Virgin Brunch for £22 which  comes with the choice of a large selection of  bottomless non alcoholic drinks and three food dishes.
The menu has a great selection of American/ Mexican influenced, tapas style dishes that mostly feature egg. There's an option for everyone from granola, to breakfast tacos, ribs, mac & cheese balls, pancakes, french toast and so much more! If you're with a big group it's a great way to order as much as possible off the menu and have a taste of everything.

Breakfast tacos

Macachini and cheese and fried egg fries
(egg is meant to be runny and dippy but fuss pots be wanting their eggs well done ha!)

Pulled pork on toast

We all finished up with pancakes but I couldn't wait (slash forgot) to take a photo before devouring them. The food was delicious!

Bad Egg was the perfect venue for my catch up with my besties. A perfect Saturday activity that filled our bellies, fueled our girly gossip and kept us giggly. I think the value for money is excellent. Everyone who worked there was so accommodating, the service was faultless.

It was the perfect location to continue our afternoon, going in to evening with a bar crawl trying London's finest cocktails. Following Bad Egg we visited - Sushi Samba, Duck & Waffle, The Drift, Boundary and finished our night at Karaoke Box Smithfield (always the sign of a good night).

I'm always looking for new places to try around London. Do you have any recommendations for me?
