A Little Bit Of Living Room Love

I love sharing my home with you. It is in fact my very own sanctuary. One of my very favourite past times is dreaming about home decor, shopping for home decor and then putting my purchases in just the right place in our house. I've already shared with you my bathroom and Baby Girl's nursery. Next up is going to be the bedroom. I'm proud of my home and I love sharing it.

Truth be told, I just don't love my living room yet. It could be that the floor is constantly strewn with toys from one end to the other. It probably is. I just get this feeling that it's not quite finished yet. Some of the bits that I thought were perfect for the room just don't seem right any more. I feel another home decor project coming along!

The biggest issue I have when decorating my home is changing my mind. I'll think I'm heading in the right direction finishing a room and then an immaculate, stylish and so hot right now picture of a living room will come up on my Instagram feed and then I change my mind all over again. Does anyone else feel me on this?

I think the key for me is to keep things simple and add a few statement pieces that I can alternate when my budget allows and I feel like switching things up. I've done well to do this with other rooms in my home but I still have some work to do on my living room. I have been doing hours of searching recently and thought I would share a little mood board with some of my finds.

I tend to gravitate  towards a more vintage look. My house is a Victorian home built it 1890. It has high ceilings and some period features still intact so I think my home suits this. High ceilings and chandelier lights go together so well, as does a big mirror hanging over the fireplace.

I have a thing for corner sofas. For me, it's the most important part of the lounge room as that's what makes the room physically comfy which is a must for me. A sofa must be comfortable enough for you to sleep comfortably on but also be stylish and add to the look of the room. To add to the comfort factor, a big high pile rug is  also a must have for me. Part of me wants one with a chevron pattern but I think it's best to keep it as neutral as possible.

The other little bits I've included on the mood board are the kind of peices that I really love the look of right now. My favourite is the floor lamp. How beautiful is it?

What are your thoughts on them? Do you think they go together? I'm not sure that you could ever feel completely done with decorating the house. Do you have any tips on how you style your home?

  2. I love your choice of colour and textures. It's sort of feminine without being pastel pink and fluffy! This look would actually suit our living room too!
