Minis Wardrobe #2 - 2nd Birthday OOTD

I have memories from as young as I can remember of picking outfits for special occasions. I always had a pretty new dress to wear for my birthday parties and Christmas Day. My mum always made it a thing for me to have a pair of party shoes in the right size ready for any occasion.

Perhaps that's where my love of fashion stems from?

Continuing the tradition, I had to make sure Baby Girl had just the right birthday outfit for her little second birthday celebration. Last year I pre-planned a long time in advance and got a bespoke first birthday outfit made especially for her. This year I decided to head to the high street and graduate from a tutu to something a little more mature. She is two after all!

Why Photos Mean So Much To Me

I have always loved photos, for as long as I can remember.

As a child I would spend hours with my nose deep in photo albums endlessly studying photos of family, friends, places we had visited and holidays we had been on. Now that I am older I have folders and folders of photo files on my laptop. Since becoming a mummy it's not unusual for me to take hundreds of photos on any given day (and is it just me who doesn't have the heart to delete any?)

The things I treasure most are memories. Memories will never leave you, although do fade and I so love that photos can keep all those special memories alive. A photo can take you right back to remembering the smells that consumed you in that moment, the feelings that you felt, exactly who shared these moments, just how young you looked back then and so so much more.

Recently my mum has been visiting from Australia. It's so rare that we have such quality grandmother, mother and granddaughter time with each other. We have three weeks together and I have really been trying to make every moment count. As well as spending some quality time at home, we have been making the most of exploring what's on our doorstep. If you've been reading my blog recently you'll know this has been one of my summer missions in the absence of us having any kind of holiday abroad booked.

I'm going to go into more detail about some of our days out on the blog really soon but I just couldn't wait to share some of the photos I've taken over that past few weeks capturing the perfect moments in time.

The first glass of champagne in Bills the day my mummy arrived. She is my favourite person to share bubbly with.

DIY: How To Make Your Own Melting Ice Cream Cone Cake

It's Wednesday and I'm only just getting over the weekend birthday celebrations. Baby Girl turned 2!

I've had so many messages from you all asking about how I created her special melting ice cream cone birthday cake so I thought I would put together a post explaining how I did it and how you can make your very own.

To My Darling Girl: You Are Two

Last week I asked you what you were going to be when you grew up. You told me "two".

This is a question that crosses my mind all the time. As your parent I think it's only natural to dream of where you may go in your life. Your daddy wants you to be a doctor or a lawyer. I have a sneaking suspicion you have the potential to make a very fine actress. You most definitely will love to sing. I don't know many two year olds that can recite every single nursery rhyme the way you can. And you do it in perfect rhythm and key.

Most of all both me and your daddy pray that you are happy. The older we get, the more we realise that's what life is really all about. Having family and being happy.

No Bake Peanut Butter Bar Recipe

I'm all about sweet treats that my toddler can enjoy without me feeling too guilty. This recipe contains two of my daughters very favourite things:

Breakfast cereal
Peanut butter

She loves anything in bar form. They're perfect for little fingers and for taking out and about. They're no bake. The best bit is there are no nasties like refined sugar and flour.

If I'm feeling really generous I'll add a drizzle of dark chocolate on top on the bars.

Minis Wardrobe #1

Well, well, well my little mini fashionistas. It's been a minute.

I've spent a few months having a break from snapping Baby Girls threads but I'm back. And guess what?

Baby Girl now has a pose game. Her pose game is strong, I do not lie....

Enjoying What's On Our Doorstep: London Eye Popping Days Out

My summer resolution is to enjoy more of what's on my doorstep. I'll hold my hands up and say I don't do enough of it. I'm quick to spend lots of time dreaming about, planning and executing trips abroad but I can also be a real home body and not go out and explore my own surroundings.

I don't know about you, but I feel like there's something special about London in the summertime. The atmosphere is incredible and there's always so much to do. Now that Baby Girl is very nearly two she loves being out and about. I like to keep her busy in the mornings and if I do she's nearly almost guaranteed to have a long nap in the afternoon which keeps her from being grumpy and is a win win for both of us.
