Life Right Now

It's so nice to be back in front of my laptop. It's been a while. Nearly two months! So what's been happening?

In less than a month Baby Girl will be two. TWO! That makes me feel just as emotional as when we were approaching her first birthday so I'm trying not to think about it too much and just enjoy the now.

She is a proper little lady and changing every day. She's so independent and wants to do everything herself. That makes things like brushing teeth time difficult because it's always 'My turn' or 'Mine'.

I fear that we have entered the world of toddler tantrums. We've had a few meltdowns. Thankfully just at home but they have not been pretty I tell you! 45 minutes of a two year old being inconsolable because the side of her Organix biscuit packet ripped is not fun for anyone. Especially when it's 6pm and I'm trying to sort dinner out!

Tantrums and strong mind aside, Baby Girl is an absolute joy and I still need to pinch myself most days at my little blessing. She's so loving and she fills my life with laughter and joy every day. I'll fill you in on all her antics in a 2 year old update soon.

Hubby is currently spending his every spare minute doing up our garden. It was pretty much ruined when we did our home renovations 2 years ago and our aim was to have the garden in a good state so we could have a casual BBQ for Baby Girl's 2nd birthday. He's dug up the whole yard, filled up a giant skip with rubble and got new fencing up. We're going to paint the fence in the next couple of days and the grass should be ready to go down next weekend, fingers crossed!

Life is still busy as ever, but I really wouldn't have it any other way. After stepping away from a few things these last few months I feel like I've had time to keep up with myself as well as having time to just chill and rest some times without having to constantly think about what's next. That's been nice.

I've been a little home sick recently and I'm so excited that my mum is coming to visit from Australia in a few weeks time. I can't wait to have some mummy, daughter and granddaughter bonding time. We miss out on so much so I will make sure we make the most out of our time together.

We have no holidays in the pipeline. This is rare and I don't like it one bit. Hubby and I both have work commitments that's making it hard to plan something in advance so we may well just do something at the last minute, hopefully in the not too distant future. What I really want to do over the next few months is make the most of summer in London and explore a bit more of the UK over weekend trips. Any family friendly suggestions?

I'm back in the blogging game so you can expect more regular updates from me again. I don't really have the time to have a strict schedule right now. This means some weeks I may post once, some multiple times. I'll have the normal mix of recipes, food bits, toddler fashion, reviews and mummy ramblings. It may just be a surprise as to what I'm updating on and when for the next little bit. I hope that's OK?

I'm going to hold off relaunching the #MinisMeals linky for now until I can invest the time in growing the community and give all the linked posts the attention that they really deserve. I loved hosting it and will be back with it for sure hopefully sooner rather than later. I might organise a co-host for next time so please do get in touch if you'd like to partner with me on it.

Finally, I'm still on the trying to be the 'best me' mission as always. I often fall off but I always get back on. I started slimming world a few weeks ago. I like it because it's not an extreme diet, it's more about a lifestyle change to eat clean but allow yourself the occasional treat. I'm not going to the gym as much as I would like but I'm really trying to find the time to go more. I'll update more on this soon too!

It's good to be back. I hope you'll all join me again.

Much love,

Kat x
