JORD Wood Watch Review: Welcome To The Watch Party

My name's Kat and I have a confession.

I love fashion. I do. I adore it. I love dreaming up outfits. I love looking at the best dressed list of the latest event, gushing over outfits, accessories, pieces. Shopping is my happy place, and that feeling of lugging a huge haul back home after a spree, trying on all my bits and having my own little fashion parade party in my bedroom, well, I can't even put that feeling in words.

However....

As much as I love fashion, I'm a total follower. I'm far from a trendsetter. I always end up getting to the party, but I'm often late.

One such party I have been late to this time is the watch party. In fact, this party has been raging for some time. I told myself I didn't need a wrist watch, why should I? I have my phone practically glued to my hand, on call to tell me the precise time whenever I need it.

But then I noticed the wrists of so many fashionistas, draped in gorgeous watches of all shapes and sizes. And gone were the days where ladies watches were cute and dainty. I was seeing chunky watches with huge faces and I loved them. Totally gorgeous and out there for the word to see. And I got it. No one actually needs a watch to tell the time these days. A watch is a statement, and better late than never, I decided I had to have one.

So when JORD got in touch and ask me if I wanted to try one of their luxury ladies watches it was perfect timing.

Firstly, I must tell you that all JORD watches are individually handcrafted and made of wood that's sourced from all around the world. When I browsed through their selection of unique watches I knew I just had to have one. There's such a wide selection and each one is as beautiful as the next.

I'm all about the black and gold these days so when I laid my eyes on the JORD Frankie series in Ebony & Gold, that was the one for me. When it arrived it looked even better in my hot little hands. The gorgeous wooden box that it came in is fabulous and I'll keep it tucked away in there whenever I'm not wearing it.

Because the watch is wood, it's super light weight and it's so comfortable on my wrist. Even though the watch is quite chunky, which is the style I was going for, I could easily forget that I was even wearing one.

When I placed my order, I followed the easy online instructions and sent my exact wrist size so they resized it before they sent it and included the extra links in my box.

The clasp is really simple to work and I can put my watch on and off really easily myself.

Most importantly, can we just take a moment to appreciate the true beauty of this watch?

JORD is an American company so everything is shipped from the US. My watch was with me within a week. JORD wood watches start from $139 USD (Current UK exchange rate £105) and my Franke Gold & Ebony watch is worth $189USD (£143).

JORD offer free worldwide shipping. Yay! Please do be aware when ordering internationally there may be additional customs charges. I had to pay £13.75 when I picked my JORD package up from my local post office in the UK.

I'm so, so happy with my gorgeous watch. I can't stop admiring it and I've had so many lovely comments about it. I think this would make such a great unique gift idea too. I'll definitely be adding this to my gift ideas list for a couple of the impossible to buy for men in my life. Is it just me or does everyone have a few of them?

I would love to hear what you think of my watch. Are you at the watch party? What are you rocking on your wrists right now?

* The team at JORD were lovely enough to send me this watch at no charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions are honest and my own.

  3. Your watch is gorgeous, I actually didn't see that watch on the site. I chose one of the burgundy watches because I love burgundy. Love your rings too where did you get them from?

  4. Beware of buying a watch on Authenticwatches.com. They sell grey goods, the watchmakers warranty is void and the watchmaker can not assure you when buying from them that the watch is new or genuine. The website Authenticwatches.com while pretending to be owbn by Authenticwatches.com, Inc is actually owned by Tranik Enterprises, Inc. In 2005 They specifically filed to change their legal name from Authenticwatches.com, Inc to Tranik Enterprises, Inc.

Here is a question you need to ask yourself: What valid reason could a business have for changing their legal name to something entirely different and then continue to use their old business name, and not list their legal name anywhere on the website, documents, or anywhere, anyone can find it.

Before buying checkout and read the complaints on the better business bureau:

    https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/moorpark/profile/jewelry-stores/authenticwatchescom-1236-92003976/complaints

Read about the guy who thought he was buying a new Rolex watch but it came missing all stickers and AW refused to take it back.

Here is AW’s response “Client claims to have received timepiece in a condition other than what was advertised. At no point in time was the timepiece advertised as "new" nor "brand new". At no point in time was the timepiece advertised to come with factory stickers.”

There are many more horror stories on the BBB and other site. Just spend a few minutes searching before you buy. Buyer beware!
