London Bottomless Brunch Review: Gaucho Electro Brunch

One of the problems I've found about living in London is that my original group of friends is constantly disbanded and/ or in transit. I met my squad when I first arrived in the UK and was living in a flat in the middle of Camden Town. There were always people coming to London and then leaving again. Heartbreaking but at the same time, a way of life.

Last weekend one of the squad was back in London for a few days after being away for over 2 years. As soon as we knew her movements we booked out a Saturday in the diary and I was tasked with finding us a place to have Bottomless Brunch. Now if you've been here before, you'll know I'm a fan of brunch and I knew this booking had to be a super special one.

Through my googling I discovered that a number of Gaucho locations are doing an 'Electro Brunch' on Saturdays. Gaucho is known for being amazing at serving Argentinean steak, but as a pescetarian I've eaten there before and loved the quality of food, service and dining experience. As soon as I browsed through the brunch menu I knew I was onto something good and I instantly booked our long awaited lady date.

We dined at Gaucho Smithfield, right by Farringdon station. Last Saturday was warm and I was pleased to see that when we arrived we were seated at the best table in the house right next to a set of open bi-fold doors. Letting us enjoy the last of what summer has to offer us whilst also taking in the gorgeously monochrome styled restaurant.

Bottomless Brunch Explained:

If you haven't heard of the concept of Bottomless Brunch before, it's basically a boozy brunch that normally involves food of some sort and some kind of bottomless alcoholic drink like mimosa, prosecco or bloody mary. There's often a limit on the food and there's also rules around the drinks like if you order mimosas you can't then chose to have a bloody mary. It's pretty standard for the brunch to be timed over a 2 hour booking. Whatever the rules are, it's always makes a great girly afternoon and the perfect environment to get merry and catch up on gossip.

Electro Brunch at Gaucho:

So here's the deal at Gaucho - There are 12 brunch food options on the menu and includes things like eggs benedict, avocado on toast, granola yoghurt, frittata and steak & eggs. All of the food options come in bite sized dishes and you can order as many as you want. You could try all the dishes on the menu if you wanted! This is the first brunch that I've come across that offers bottomless food and drinks. There are three alcoholic options - Domaine Chandon, Bloody Mary and Aperol Spritz. There is also a juice bar offering a selection of non alcoholic juice concoctions. The drinks are bottomless and you can alternate between any of the selections but you can only have one drink at a time. The booking is for a two hour period and brunch bookings take place every Saturday between 11am - 3pm.

A Close Up Look At Some Of The Dishes:

Avacado on toast

Bell pepper & oregano fritata

Fried proveleta with caramelised onion chutney (basically cheese heaven!!)

Eggs Florentine

Plum tomato, mushroom and egg (minus the chorizo sausage and requested egg to be well done)
Blueberry pancakes

I should have made more of an effort to get some shots of the meat eaters dishes but I was too busy consuming food, drinks and gossip! Believe me when I tell you the meat dishes were very much enjoyed, especially the steak and egg. After all, steak is what these guys are famous for.

My verdict?

I love that the food dishes come in bite sizes so you can have a taste of everything and order your favourites again (hot tip - that cheese is to die for!!). The food itself is delicious and each dish comes with just the right amount of sauce, seasoning or a little something - something on the side. The menu has been well thought out.

I alternated my drinks between the Aperol Spritz and the Chandon. The service was quick and I felt that we were well looked after. There was always another food dish or beverage on the way. I don't ever remember having to make an effort to order or get the attention of the staff. Most importantly the atmosphere was the perfect setting for our lady date and we had such a brilliant time.

At £45 a head, this menu is at the pricier scale of bottomless brunches in London but I feel like we definitely got our money worth and even though we had to all be basically rolled out of the restaurant we all left super happy. I would definitely recommend it and would love to try it again soon.

London is my foodie playground and I love exploring it. I would love to hear if you have any other suggestions on places I need to check out?

  1. Continuously utilize two tests to gauge for voltage. You will require one to test at ground and one more to test where you might want to quantify for the voltage.عالية الجهد مكثف السيراميك
