I wanted to share a special little idea I had for my daughters first Christmas last year. Her very first Christmas.
I've always loved Christmas day. To me, it's all about family. Getting to spend my first Christmas last year with my very own daughter for the first time was like nothing I could even put into words. It was literally like all my Christmases had come at once.
Baby Girl was four months old on her first Christmas day.
Being four months old, there wasn't really anything that she really needed. She had toys and clothes coming out her ears that would see her through until she was at least 1year. For her first Christmas I really wanted to get her something sentimental and something that she could keep forever.
So I got her a Pandora bracelet!
If you haven't heard of Pandora before, they do the most gorgeous, high quality charm bracelets. They have such a wide variety of charms so that each bracelet can be completely individual for the person wearing it.
I promise I am not mad for getting my four month old a Pandora, hear me out ...
This little goodie bag contained a Pandora stirling silver charm bracelet and a gorgeous Christmas charm.
This is going to be an extra special gift that will mark many special occasions in her life. My plan is to add extra charms for occasions that we want to remember. We will thread the bracelet together and keep it in a safe place.
When she is responsible enough to look after it, I will give it to her to keep safe and wear it. Probably when she is 16. By then, every single charm will tell a story about special moments in her life.
Over the past year I have added an extra 2 charms. Photo's really don't do the gorgeous detailing of these charms any justice. The first charm is last years Christmas one. The second one I brought for Baby Girl for her Christening and the third one for her first birthday.
Because it will be so many years until Baby Girl get's to wear the bracelet the lovely ladies in the store recommended that I keep the bracelet in a snap lock bag. This will prevent the bracelet being exposed to air and will avoid any tarnishing. Apparently the risk of tarnishing is if the bracelet is not being worn.
I love the experience of going in to the Pandora store and picking out a charm. All of the products are so beautifully packaged in a gift box and bag with a final touch of a Pandora ribbon. I just love everything about them. I can't wit until Baby Girl is old enough to get involved with the whole process.
For this Christmas I am going to try and find an aeroplane charm to mark the occasion of her first flight back to Australia. My original home and where we will be for this Christmas day.
What special Christmas presents or sentimental keep sake gifts have you given your kiddies? I'm a big sucker when it comes to these kind of things.
