Why Photos Mean So Much To Me

I have always loved photos, for as long as I can remember.

As a child I would spend hours with my nose deep in photo albums endlessly studying photos of family, friends, places we had visited and holidays we had been on. Now that I am older I have folders and folders of photo files on my laptop. Since becoming a mummy it's not unusual for me to take hundreds of photos on any given day (and is it just me who doesn't have the heart to delete any?)

The things I treasure most are memories. Memories will never leave you, although do fade and I so love that photos can keep all those special memories alive. A photo can take you right back to remembering the smells that consumed you in that moment, the feelings that you felt, exactly who shared these moments, just how young you looked back then and so so much more.

Recently my mum has been visiting from Australia. It's so rare that we have such quality grandmother, mother and granddaughter time with each other. We have three weeks together and I have really been trying to make every moment count. As well as spending some quality time at home, we have been making the most of exploring what's on our doorstep. If you've been reading my blog recently you'll know this has been one of my summer missions in the absence of us having any kind of holiday abroad booked.

I'm going to go into more detail about some of our days out on the blog really soon but I just couldn't wait to share some of the photos I've taken over that past few weeks capturing the perfect moments in time.

The first glass of champagne in Bills the day my mummy arrived. She is my favourite person to share bubbly with.

Walking through Bicester Village in awe of the beautiful shop fronts and browsing in stores at bits I couldn't afford, even at outlet prices!

Watching Baby Girl run to each garden section around Bicester Village, touching, feeling, smelling each plant on her journey.

Drinking Mojitos on the balcony at The Lighterman in the new Kings Cross Development on a 30 degree day and watching the sun set over the fountains.
Admiring just how beautiful the Rushton Hall building is.

Walking around the grounds of Rushton Hall, all 3 of us, hand in hand.

Discovering our stunning suite at Rushton Hall and seeing Baby Girl so excited about the glorious bath. She had two baths in a 24 hour period she loved it so much.

Photos mean so much to me because although there will always be the memory of a day trip to Bicester Village, a stay at Rushton Hall, all the other wonderful things we've done and this period when my mum has visited. It's the little details that can pass us by. I love that I take so many photos and these are all moments that I can always look back on and refresh my memory.

Because I love having a camera with me always I've been looking at investing in a camera that is a little easier to take out and about. I've come across this Best Compact Camera Panasonic. It's a brand new release and has really caught my eye. It's super compact and takes pictures and videos in 4k quality. I like what I see so far and I can't wait to head to the shops and have a look and play with it.

Any tips for me? I would love to hear if you've come across this camera and if you have any thoughts on it.

Here's my tip for the day. Capture those special life moments in photo whenever you can. You won't ever regret taking that extra minute for a shot but you'll definitely regret not doing it!
