For any of you who have been following my loosing baby weight challenge, I thought it was about time I posted an update for you. It's been awhile...
Trying to lose weight has been my mission for as long as I can remember. I'm not naturally skinny. I don't have a fast metabolism. I have had to work for it. When I'm not consciously trying to lose weight, it is slowly creeping on. That's just my reality.
The times that I have been most successful in my weight loss journey, I have had total focus. I've been at the gym 5 days a week and have been nothing but disciplined about every single mouthful that goes in my mouth.
I'm struggling with the fact that I just can't have that focus right now. My number one priority is my family. Actually I'm OK with that. And truthfully, that is my reality now and for the long foreseeable future.
Since I decided to publicly record my mission to lose my baby weight I have lost about a stone there abouts, depending on the day. I managed to do this within the first five weeks which I was really pleased with. Since then, life has got the better of me and I just haven't been able to focus on me.
Life has been busy. J has been away on business and I have been the only carer for baby girl (hats off to all you single parents out there). My priority is spending time preparing wholesome meals for Baby Girl who is coming increasingly fussy and if I'm lucky I manage to get something in me that stops me from becoming hangry (hunger = anger).
I'm OK with it because it's not like I've been gaining, I just haven't been losing so there's not much for me to report. I still have my goals that I'm aiming for before we go to Australia at the beginning of December. That still means I've got two months and that's a lot of time to make a difference.
I'm hoping life gets a little less crazy from next week, and that I can meal plan for me and start really counting my calories again to better the weight loss that I've already achieved. My point is just to let you know that I haven't completely fallen off the bandwagon and I still want to share this journey with you. There just hasn't been much to share of late, so I've been spending my blogging time writing other kinds of posts rather than making excuses for myself.
Keep your eyes peeled though. I'm still very much mentally motivated and once life gets back to normal I will be better.
