Minis Wardrobe #2 - 2nd Birthday OOTD

I have memories from as young as I can remember of picking outfits for special occasions. I always had a pretty new dress to wear for my birthday parties and Christmas Day. My mum always made it a thing for me to have a pair of party shoes in the right size ready for any occasion.

Perhaps that's where my love of fashion stems from?

Continuing the tradition, I had to make sure Baby Girl had just the right birthday outfit for her little second birthday celebration. Last year I pre-planned a long time in advance and got a bespoke first birthday outfit made especially for her. This year I decided to head to the high street and graduate from a tutu to something a little more mature. She is two after all!

It was actually a last minute dash to town and I only chose it a couple of days before the event. It was once of those situations where the dress and boots combo was the first thing in the first shop I ventured in to. I knew it was the one but I had to check every other tots section before my mind would rest. Does that happen to anyone else? It always happens with me, even when I was shopping for my wedding dress.

I just fell in love with the outfit and so did Baby Girl. I let her try it on when we got home and it was tantrum central when I wouldn't let her wear it in the garden. When I managed to pry it off her I made sure to put it far far away so she wouldn't see it again until it was party day.

She had such a great day with the whole family and she looked totally adorable and grown up in her new threads. Even though she is a summer baby, the weather on this particular day left a lot to be desired so the warmer style dress and the boots were a winner and she'll be able to wear them both during the coming autumn and winter.

The birthday girl looked super gorgeous and got so many comments on her outfit.

Shop the look:

Checked dress |  Zara  |  £21.99
Fringed leather boots  |  Zara |  £29.99
Hairband with flowers  |  H&M  |  £2.99

Baby Girl enjoyed her ice cream themed party. I've written a post on how I created her melting ice cream cone cake and I have a full post on how I put together all the decor coming up next week. Pop back if it's something you'd like to see.

Kat x

    1. Yep, they're both right up there in my books! I think she'll be wearing this dress all Autumn and winter. Just got to make sure to keep it clean. I take risks with light clothing that don't always work out for me haha xx
